I thought since I live in Koh Samui, I would tell you some nice places to go out for the nightlife in Samui.

Chaweng
The only places that I like is Green Mango, it has many places around it too if you get bored, if you jump in a taxi, just ask for green mango and you will be in the heart of the nightlife.

Also not too far is the reggae pub, They have a live band and is a big place. Lots of room and usually not too packed.

Lamai
Super Sub Club is a popular night spot for tourists and locals, one of my favourites in Lamai.

Fusion On Lamai's main street is the ever popular nightclub too.

There is plenty of good clubs and pubs, but these are my favourite ones, if you planing on coming to Koh Samui, then try and visit these places.

The "Reggae Pub" in Chaweng is quite an experience, suitable for couples as well. One of the few venues that attracts crowds even in off-season. B)

Islands in general have a limited nightlife and all service charges are upped for the big spenders :speak_cool:

I wouldn't call Lamai's nightlife 'limited', unless you mean geographically.

Too bad Samui is utterly despoiled. 10 years ago it was paradise. Now it's barely Thai.

Samui is now pure commerce and profiteering, good that my Samui experiences from way back were impressive, now memories fade slowly :morning1:

What are you now referring to? :morning1:

When have you actively participated in any type of typical nightlife activity? Don't those memories fade...?

I think we have a case of "I'm more Thai than you are" among us...don't worry, though, you'll get over it when you've been here a while...

Samui does look very commercialized, too many foreign companies around.
The beaches do have waves which is what I like.

I will be going to the full moon party in a few months when it is not busy.
My friends always go. It is the best party I have ever been too.

I was on Samui in 2006. Loved the Reggae Pub. Pity the Island has got so commercialized. I wouldn't mind moving there. Also now to expensive. I think?
