Hello, I'm near Sydney Australia & venturing to Thailand for the first time with DH leaving the 30 April for 10 nights in Phuket. DH has never set foot on a plane before so its going to be a new experience all round.

We are staying in Patong...... we thought it would have easier access ie if we wanted to go out for a "stroll"we could then if we wanted to sit back at the hotel we could, and things just in general....

Have just decided we want to visit Thailand, ideally in October but worried about the rain, so may wait til next year. Been to the travel agents and got loads of brochures today, but really don't want an organised tour, so hoping to pick up lots of helpful tips from people on here about the best places to see etc
