My dear sister is visiting in a couple months and will be doing other regional travels {Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia}. Will be traveling on a basic tourist visa {2 months}. Do the Thai immigration authorities rquire an onward travel proof with this kind of visa? Thank in advance. http://www.thai-disc...tyle_emoticons/default/tongue.gif

You only need to show an onward ticket if you are traveling to Thailand with no visa

Just a small point, for future readers:

In nearly 30 years of travel to and from Thailand, I have NEVER been asked to show an onward ticket BY THAI IMMIGRATION. The real problem is the airline, which MAY not let you board IF you don't have a visa, or, in some cases, the correct visa. If you were refused admission at Thai Immigration, the AIRLINE would be responsible for repatriating you AT THEIR EXPENSE.

Since the OP's question was posed many months ago, it would be interesting to hear the outcome. With a 60-day Tourist visa, I doubt there would be any problem, unless the gate agent was inexperienced. Then, a supervisor would need to make the call. Happened exactly this way to a close friend...

Yes the problem is with the airline not Thai immigration. I have had the occasion where the airline had me sign a form releasing them from providing myself return carriage, if I was refused entry into the kingdom on a one way ticket.
