So do you think Thailand will get rid of the 90 day visa runs and let us foreigners stay as long as we want?

Thai immigration wont let us foreigners stay for more then 90 days because they just don't want us in the country, if we didnt spend much money to help there economy then i'm sure Thai immigration would just kick us all out.

It's unlikely they'll get rid of 90 visa runs soon. It's all about money dude.

Thailand's visa policy is inhumane, buerocratic and full of follow-on scams for foreigners. A whole industry coughs up hard currency and dissatisfies foreigners.
Their dissatisfaction is a laughable situation for Thai authorities.
Wait 5 more years, then long term resindents will all have moved out as all surrounding countries offer a much better visa situation and less harassment or travel needs. Toss the gods in the Immigration offices then in the mud and point with your fingers at them. New arrivals still fill the coffers, but the dynamically growing expat communities all over the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos currently improve their infrastuctures and soon have legal options and decent housing for their expats. Only Thailand really doesn't see that!
Langkawi is living proof that visa rules can be applied in a friendly way, 90 days visa on arrival for most, duty free islandwide, Malaysia's great "2nd home" program...... hundreds or thousands of former Phuket yachties and retirees are already there...... almost every applicant is a former Thailand-cashbringer, a dissatisfied one!

They make money from it, it is a old out dated system which needs a overhaul. But I guess Thailand have a lot more problems to solve first before they even look at the visa situation.

But they do keep "looking" at it.
The rules change without notice every few months.
