I have a degree and I heard teaching is what a lot of foreigners are doing, but I don't want to teach. Is there anything else there?

But teaching in Thailand is a easy job and anyone can do it.

If you want to be a teacher or engineer, then there is plenty of jobs. If you want to work in a bar or takeaway, you won't get anything

Please specify, IMHO the Kingdom has a very protective policy towards entrepreneurs and jobseekers alike. The industries in Southeastasia all seem to have larger growth in foreign investments due to the judical hurdles here. I live here a mere decade now and consider a move in the forseeable future.

One word, snide answers, or outright hostility to someone looking for an honest answer don't seem to me like good ways to attract forum participation.
I can sympathize with his apparent fear the the 'old' ways are disappearing, and Thailand is changing (I fell in love with the 'old' Thailand, too), but he seems to think that he's the only one who is entitled to live here.
What gives?
