Hi all. About six months ago, I have made a contract with an alibaba gold supplier Thailand company. I have ordered approximately 25000 USD of products from this company. At the end this company send me containers full of garbage. Non usable scrap, like rocks and papers, junks...I have been filing this case to the Hong Kong court, but not much help is getting from them, since it is an oversea company from Thai. I have also asked for assistant from the Thailand Embassy in HK. They were very kind to help us at first, but since the cheater refuses to pay back, and the embassy have no rights to governed this case, so she give us a hk lawyer number, who seemed to have office in Thai. However, we have quote the price of the lawyer fee, and OMG, it was too much for me to handle, since I'm just running a small business and all the money has been put to this Thai company who has cheated me. I'm planning to go to Thai myself, but is very afraid I don't know where to go? I'm thinking of going to the police...but I saw on the Internet that police can't help me unless it is a serious crime like murder and rape. I'm really hoping some one can give me advice in what I can do, and maybe where I can find debt collection company in Thai? Any advice is very much appreciated!,,

Wish you luck, but why sent money anywhere without proof? There is an abundance of honest cargo checkers, which cost peanuts and would have saved you all the money. Thais see stealing as a national sport, if foreigners are the victims :morning1:

It will be difficult to prove the supplier was guilty.
He will pass the blame onto the packers, deliverers, shippers, ship's crew, HK import agent, HK warehouse, etc.
The Thai legal system is very slow moving, so expect a few years.
Also please be aware that if you come to Thailand it is illegal to defame somebody even if the allegations are true.

Best of Luck

Thanks guys. Well actually when the cargo arrived the warehouse we asked a legal cargo inspector to be a witness to inspect the cargo for us. While the lock of the cargo was still intact and we opened together. Now I have official report that indicates the cargo was infact filled with rubbish when opened. The cargo key even had a code on it to prove it was from the company. Everyone was shocked, and it was like one of a million that the two containers were all rubbish according to the warehouse staffs. I have all proofs with contracts and documents. Still won't work? If I do want to file the case in Thailand, where should I be heading to? police station or the government courts?

Have I read your figures right, at today's prices 25000 USD will get you 570gm of thai gold.

Why was it sent in containers, why didn't you collect it personally ?

hi elite. It has to be in containers (shipping cargos ) coz the products are heavy. It was shipped from Thai to HK by logistic companies. Lawyers are too expensive, now that I have lost all my money. So I have to use other ways...but don't know how

thanks all. We paid 30%deposit first and upon BL ( bill of lading) we paid the remaining amount trusting that he is a gold alibaba supplier and in our dealing conversations he seemed trustable. We have all documents gathered, nothing is missing to prove that he has cheated us. The only thing I need is money to hire lawyer to sue him. Also because it is an oversea case, I don't know what to do. Even asking lawyer need consulting fee. I'm planning to go to the government bureau on monday to see if there is any free legal advice assistant. But my friend told me to just go to Thai and find him in person or go to the police there. The two container of rubbish could not be worth any thing, since it was mixed with more than 100 styles of plastic scrap, some are even stones, and rocks. And the materials have to use chemicals to separate them. All those problems we can't even sell it as recycle plastic scrap. We had to pay money for people to take it away.

The thai police will not be interested it getting you justice their main concern will be who is paying the most.
You will be paying them to arrest the seller and the seller will be paying them to leave him alone.
The highest bidder wins.

The gold seller is already 25000 USD in profit so he can easily pay them 50%
Do you have the cash to pay them ?
After all your extra expenses will it still be worth the trip ?

I think I may have misunderstood your explanation.
"I have made a contract with an alibaba gold supplier Thailand company"
Does this mean you have you bought gold or that the supplier is 'gold' rated?

What goods did you order ?
