Thai-Discovery Ranking Well In Google Searches As Of Today

Thai-discovery.com/forum is ranking well in Google.com, we still need to work on google.co.th as we are not going as well there.

If you search "Thai forum" in Google.com we rank only behind thaivisa and if you search "Thailand forum" we rank around 6th or 7th. Not bad considering we were on page 26th only a few months ago, now the hard part is to try and bring in more traffic.

If you have any other idea's on how to bring in more traffic feel free to discuss, I will be working on the homepage over the next few months when I am not busy and hopefully it will boost our page rank and we rank in other Thailand search queries in Google.

Some may think since have not been as busy lately we might close soon, this is not the case, we plan on sticking around for at least 5 more years as we will be renewing our hosting account for 5 years.

Meanwhile, this general discussion area needs to have the number of pinned threats drastically reduced to appear actual. With half the screen full of old pinned thinngs, it is a bit boring to scroll daily past that old stuff :biggrin_mini2:

Now this totally off the wall so bare with me. Facebook will soon be launching Facebook Questions, where users can ask a question and it can be viewed by their 500 million users. Now if I was running a forum I would looking at Facebooks API to see if your forum could be integrated into this Questions feature. So someone asks a question on here and it automatically posted on FB, with a link back to you of course.

As I say it's only a theory because as yet this feature has not been launched and we don't know what features it will have. Maybe integration could be achieved by RSS Graffiti or some other app.

Anyway worth keeping an eye on, I certainly will be.

Well I only joined today so maybe time will tell. If you want to compete with thaivisa which I assume is your main competitor then you need to encourage quality content. Google ranking for keyword phrases like Thailand forum is not that relevant, the reason TV gets so many hits is because when you search for something related to Thailand, whatever it is they are always at the top or there abouts.

This is something that has been built up over a number of years. I assume you wish to generate revenue from advertising, so the only way is by providing quality content, so people come back for more. Just because you are number one on Google for "Thai forum" means very little, where you rank for "how do I renew my visa" and a a million other such questions is much more important.
