I was at a Thai friend's house yesterday and was served a cheese cake with rice :speak_cool:

It was one of the strangest meals I have had in some time in Thailand.

Anyone have been served a strange combination?

Quite normal to have some sticky rice with your sweet/dessert.

You say cheese cake, was it a pumpkin and egg combination which looks similar ?

Cheese cake and rice is different and are you sure it was a cheese cake as they are not that easy to find.

...nor is cheese cake taken {or even known} by average Thai society. Bonki is probably closer in his description of said cheese cake. And yes, it can be common to take sweet sticky-rice with many so-called desserts.

Just be thankful you were offered any food to begin with as its not the food but the thought that counts.
