Thailand Has So Much To Offer. Why Only Phuket And Pattaya?

The average tourist will know Phuket, the "other type" of tourists know Pattaya.
What about Hua Hin, Trang, Ranong, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai plus so many other destinations.
If Thailand could spread the tourists around Thailand more, competing for the tourist dollar could benefit us, benefit a wider range around Thailand and we would all live happily ever after.
Why only Phuket and Pattaya?

Any way to educe the numbers of Tourists in Phuket I will be on board with. Even if it is bad publicity, bad publicity for Phuket is good for Phuket.

I think Huahin could really do well if advertised. I wonder how many of the incoming tourists have even heard of it. I think it wouldnt be many

Shhhhh.... it is one of the few areas that still resembles Thailand to an extend, not a farangized, stupid, mafia-ridden and ridiculously overpriced rain pit like Phuk@ in June.
Heading to beautiful Koh Chang tomorrow with the family and its gonna be great again!
Did a three-peat last summer and spent a total of 6 weeks there, didn't have a day without fun there

I found a great place without the crowds on a cliff right near the beach. Infinity-pool type of view of the ocean from inside the pool, great food and seaview-chalets with oversized windows facing the sunsets. A small resort with only about 25 rooms, but well kept:

My upcoming report will give all details and a cost breakdown. A/C minivan from BKK to the pier runs only 300 THB, ferry is 60 THB and transport on the island to the resorttown is also 60 THB - why spend fortunes for Phuket or Samui? 420 Baht is my door-to-door price incl. ferry and that won't get you a ride from the airport in Phuket to a resort

The last time I was there was Feb 09 and a lot of construction was taking place around the island.

Yes indeed, I happen to know a few more besides Koh Chang.
Theres Koh Phayam for probably one more year and the other Koh Chang near Ranong that can hold its value for me for a while longer.
You may check my reality reports on those below

The 3rd trip this summer comes up in a flash now, Koh Chang again, for good measure. Miss nothing there and have all the fun I need at half of Phuk@ charges
Read about my last months trip there here: Koh Chang in Rainy Season, July 2010
