I just came back from Khaosan Rd, it's very quiet. It's day time though, not sure what it likes at night. Just feel sorry for people who make a living there.

I don't feel so sorry, their fat months are over for the season and now travelers have realized that it isn't the navel of it all anymore, Phnom Penh, Penang and Vientiane are catching up fast as Asian destinations and their prices are as sweet 'n low as they were in Thailand not too long ago :whistling:

Tourism definately down in numbers....for those that rely on it to make a living, I do hope it turns back around soon...Thailand will bounce back!!!Posted Image

Agree, but they may hit even deeper ground yet. The self-serving may continue again by populists - but many Thais see them as heroes rather than leeches. Who knows what the next election will cough up in terms of winners :whistling:

Yes elections will be interesting.. I sense the red shirt crew may have lost some support over the last couple of months, definately not gain any....therefore the parties that are supportive of this mob may not fare as well as they would have prior to this conflictPosted Image

The greatest advantage for LOS would be for the tourism industry to shrivel up and disappear.

The 'people' are never the winners in any such Thai elections. The winning class come from the same circles. Same as it ever was......
