We live in Bangkok, and go many times to Tilac Bar.
But the are relay check you.
It happened different times.
We hear this also from our customers.
The last time we come on "Happy Hour"
And stay maybe one hour.
When we must pay, the give us a bill of 9200 Thai Bath.
We pay but never come back when the are not clear this wrong billing !
The are charge 5 to 6000 bath to much !
We write this on every forum on the world !
Now the are lose more then the win !
WHY THE "RIP OFF" GOOD CUSTOMERS ?
We have to many friends and customers in hole Thailand

Imagine that. A rip-off on Sukhumvit. If they do practice as such, the word will get around soon enough and they'll lose prospective customers rightly, for the competition in that part of town is vicious. Practice your protest - don't go there. "Fool me twice....."

It's off the Suk, Roy - but why visit a bar again and over and over, if I was treated unfair?

I've heard of the Toy Bar's Tequila trick and Suzie Wong's upcharging, fictivous lady drinks in other places - what exactly did they charge you for?

Some tips for your next trip to Tilac Bar,
- Always ask how much the drinks cost BEFORE you order.
- Do not buy another lady a drink (if they work there, sometimes there drink is 300 baht plus)
- Pay for each round of drinks, having a tab can get you some unexpected charges.
- If the lady's donation is 2000 baht, remember there might be a 500 or so baht bar fine, this is common, so if she says 2000 baht, she means 2500 or so baht.
- Do not take shit from them.

I was there a few months ago. This is the place which the ladies were telling me "no, you to big" I know I am tall but there were taller people there.

One of the best places in the wold, the people here are not pushy and the staff are a lot more classy than most places in Bangkok.
