Lets say the wages are the same, which of the following jobs would you enjoy the most?
Security guard?
Motorbike taxi?
Tuk-tuk driver?
Factory worker?
Policeman?
For me I would think being a motorbike taxi would fun, they seems to have fun hanging out until they get a customer.

Hard one, maybe a tuk tuk taxi.
It would be fun driving it if you dont have to drive it in Bangkok.

Self-employment is the easy angle. Independent and self-sufficient.

Motorcycle taxi for sure, getting paid to ride around on a motorcycle all day can not be too bad. They also seem to enjoy themselves too, always looking happy.
I would hate to be a factory worker, I assume most factories would not have aircon and it would be a nightmare in summer if you worked in a factory with a tin roof.

We have a small business here in Australia, this enables us to spend 4 months of the year in Thailand while the business still runs. We are also looking at building some accomodation quarters for Thai students and workers in Khon Kaen where there appears to be a demand however this is in its infancy

"If you had to work in Thailand....." As I re-examine this pose, I have to ask: how many Farang do you know that reside here without working? I really suspect that the number of {part-time or full-time} resident foreigners that are pensioners, on the dole, or bladdy filthy rich might be quite nominal. I believe one would be extremely surprised as to the great variety of 'occupations' that stir the Farang communities.
