Kobe Steak House

Japanese restaurant bangkok

I know a few people who have been to Kobe Steak House and have given it mixed reviews.

I have been to Kobe Steak House on a few occasions for birthdays and other parties, it’s a bit pricey and the food has not been consistent. (more…)

Oishi Group

Oishi restaurants are all around Thailand, they have a few types of restaurants which offer buffets, ramen noodle bar and hot pots.

Cuisine: Japanese

Oishi Japanese buffet Oishi Japanese Buffets - The buffets offer a nice selection of Japanese food for a buffet, I am not really keen on buffets but Oishi is not to bad, some will offer sashimi and sushi while others only sushi. What I really like about it is that you can get your meat and veggies grilled just before you eat it. Not many buffets do offer that so the meat does not taste like it has been lying around for days.

You will also get sorba, fried rice, ice-cream sausages, variety of steamed dumplings and much more.  While not the best Japanese food around, for a buffet it is good and I always leave happy as it always has a nice atmosphere.

Cost: 300-400 Baht per head

Service: Self serve

Taste: 6/10

Value: 8/10

Oishi Ramen Oishi Ramen - Serves Japanese style noodle soup dishes, the Ramen here is not bad but their is just something missing, the Ramens are a little bland and do not really taste like what you would get in Japan or other good restaurants here in Thailand.

Cost: 150-200 Baht per dish.

Service: 7/10

Taste: 5/10

Value: 6/10

Oishi Shabu shi (Japanese Hot Pot Buffet) – Looks like a sushi bar with a sushi train, but it serves seafood, veggies and meats that you cook in the pot filled with water that is infront of you. You make your own hot pot with the ingredients that pass you. The food is very simular to MK but has a lot more variety and its a buffet. I am not a real fan of buffets but the Oishi group seem to do them well. The sauce they provide is very nice and the food tastes fresh. I have had better hot pots in Thailand but this is not as expensive and tastes pretty good.

Hot pots are either hit or miss, if your not a hot pot fan you probably won’t like it as I know plently of friends who hate hot pots and will disagree with me saying Shabu Shi has good food for a buffet.

Cost: 200 Baht per head approx.

Service: Self serve

Taste: 7/10

Value: 8/10
