Thai-discovery was launched on August 2009 by Don Carswell and Siriporn Carswell.

One of the main reasons we decided to make this website was I (Don Carswell) had a bit of a culture shock after moving to Thailand in January 2009.

 

I have been to Thailand on 6 previous occasions in 6 years and loved Thailand so much that we decided to move here.

I can tell you that it was not the easiest transition, as living here and being here on holidays is a very different experience. I live in the outer skirts of Bangkok and most Thai's here speak very limited English or none at all.

 

I am sure that I am not the only foreigner who has dealt with the difficult and interesting transition to Thai life and hope this website can help others who already live in Thailand or thinking about moving to here..
